Tuckey Design Studio restores original character of Old Chapel in Devon

Replacing an existing extension that Tuckey Design Studio said had no "historic or architectural value" is a small courtyard on the ground floor, which offers access from two of the double bedrooms and improves cross ventilation. "We enhanced the open-plan character of the nave by cutting to reveal, accentuating the drama by exposing existing joists, repointing stone arches and uncovering existing floorboards." Due to the home's desirable location -- Venice is a famous beachside neighborhood -- the current owners are looking to sell the residence for $1.35 million. I recognized the steps the band was standing on from having visited Griffith Observatory back in the 70's. It's located high on a mountain in the middle of Griffith Park, Los Angeles. If you're in Los Angeles, and you look up at the Hollywood sign up in the mountains, then look to the right about 2 miles, that's Griffith Park.

Through these works both artists investigate corporate control, American idealism, and constructed ideas of success. They sometimes meditate on death to call for more active engagement with the present and a rejection of past mythologies. Walking down the streets of Old Sacramento, you’ll come to realize it’s hard to guess which one of the historic buildings is the oldest. Most of Sacramento’s historic structures were burned during the 1852 fire, and the only one that survived was the Lady Adams Building, built just five months earlier.

Downtown Los Angeles is as unique as can be with its mind-blowing skyscrapers and striking architecture. What makes it even more special is the iconic Bradbury Building, the oldest commercial building in Los Angeles. Since its construction in 1893, the Bradbury Building has served the sole purpose of being an office space, and a gorgeous one while we’re at it. The five-story building has a skylit atrium with elaborate ironwork, stairs, and elevators, making it one of the best places to pose for pictures in L.A.

The second floor has an additional two bedrooms and a bathroom, as well as a large bonus room that could double as a home office or fourth bedroom. Outside, shady patios are surrounded by a plethora of fruit trees that offer a fresh supply of Meyer lemons, oranges, grapefruits, and figs. Keep scrolling to see more of this historic property, currently listed for $1,245,000. This includes collecting and performing the stories of individuals whose voices might otherwise be absent.

In the late 60's and early 70's it was musical mecca for the new "country-rock" sound as popularized by Neil Young, The Flying Burrito Brothers, the Eagles, many of who lived there at one time or another. By the way, just to make sure this wasn't a look-a-like stone house, I matched-up several stones on the face of the house from the old and new photos. The Old Chronicle Building is a Romanesque Revival-style structure that has adorned the San Francisco skyline since 1889—it was the headquarters of the San Francisco Chronicle until 1924. Designed by architectural firm Burnham and Root, the Old Chronicle may not exactly be the oldest building in San Francisco, but it’s the oldest skyscraper on the West Coast. In 1905, the building’s four-story clock tower was destroyed by skyrockets during a mayoral victory parade, but the structure stood still even during the 1906 earthquake.
